Fostering self-regulated learning in higher education

In the series ‘ICO web-lectures on Research into Higher Education’ prof. Jos Beishuizen (VU Amsterdam) provides a systematic overview of research on self-regulated learning in higher education. He presents a process model of self-regulated learning, which offers a useful framework to structure the most important concepts from research on self-regulated learning in higher education. Ten overall statements and an illustrative example are presented to enrich the theory on self-regulated learning into the practice of teaching in higher education.

• Prof. dr. Jos Beishuizen, studied psychology at Leiden University. He is currently professor of educational science and head of the Centre for Educational Training, Assessment and Research at the Free University Amsterdam. Jos Beishuizen is scientific Director at the Netherlands Interuniversity Centre for Educational Sciences (ICO).
